750 Woodmaster

Lebarons (all their stores) returned all their Remington 750s for the exact reason mentioned previously. They had had a whole bunch of returns in their Montreal stores so management decided to send them all back to Remington in the states.

well that is not true i was lebarons this week and there were a couple on the racks....I have had 2 that worked great...they point well and are light and handy but have a crappy trigger ..if you get one take care of it and it will shoot but make sure when you load the mag that you seat the shells fully to the rear by tapping the mag ....Dan

I have dealt with three Rem semi's. After tearing them down and rebuilding them, I found the common feeding problem was caused by the mags. The mag lips sit too high, therefore impeding progrees of the bolt. material was removed from the mag lips, then bent down, filed sanded and polished. It is a gradual process and will work.

Aftermarket mags cause consistant malfunctions or won't seat. The bolt lugs screw into the beach like a Ross. Keep it clean and lightly lubed with a synthetic oil.

The rifles are acceptably accurate and can be reliable bush guns. But for the price they're asking, buy used or a new BAR.

I have heard The mags lips being the problem and I believe you. My question is: should anybody ever trust a major Gun manufacturer who can not fix such a minor flaw in a popular knish market gun for years and allow it to go on and on and on.....rueining its reputation?

Does anybody remember the Ford Pinto's exploding gas tanks and what it did to the Ford's reputation for 40 years?

Sweet Jeezus Gate....tell yer Bro to brush his teeth next time:p

I bought one about two years ago and it has worked great with no problems except when I tried to use Winchester ammo in it. Then it did exactly what was described. Wouldn't chamber a round, close consistently, so I switched back to Federal and now my hand loads. Keep it clean and find the ammo it likes. With this .30-06 I have taken a deer a season (so far).

I have Rem 750 carbine in 30-06. It cycles just fine. Empty mag in and bolt open. Drop a round in the chamber and close the bolt. Drop out the empty mag and slide in a loaded mag.

Never had a problem when loaded this way - its a pian in the a** but it works and is what is in the remington manual as the way to load it.

Sighted in at 200 yards with Rem Corelock 180grn PSP, shoots groups of three at 1" just fine. Took a mule doe at 250yards and a whitetail doe at 300 this fall. (rested shots not offhand).

Enjoy it in 35 Whelen, it will serve you well.
