760-7600 stock conversion?

I have a remington 760 gamemaster made in 1963 w/ original stocks. I thought about putting 7600 stocks on it. Are they compatible? I assume the butt stock would be OK ......... but the fore end stocks are diffirent shape's. I was thinking of buying a set I saw in the EE forum. Any help.

I believe they are compatable.I've purchased aftermarket Ramline synthetic stocks and they indicated that they could be used for both.Supercub has a wealth of knowledge regarding the 760/7600s,perhaps he could confirm this.

numrich GPC shows a plain walnut buttstock for models 740,742,760,552,7400,7600 ,4,6,Spt.74,Spt.76 and 870 small frame. so yes they are compatible. www.e-gunparts.com .
