7mm-08 Brass?

I now buy 308 Lapua from Hirsch Precision and size it down.

When you factor in the life of this brass it becomes cheaper to use than the competitions 7-08 labeled brass.

Remington if you want the head stamp and decent life.

My local supplier has Remington brass... PM if you are interested... also, I prefer to use properly headstamped brass whenever possible... if you size down .308 brass be very careful with your management of the loads after construction (especially if you also shoot and size for .260)...

I use Remington Brass. Mainly because its all i could find at my local provider, and with my abundance of 308 Remington brass on hand i found it very handy being able to neck down the 308 brass. I shoot a custom built 7mm-08 on a Remington 700 action and 1-9" twist Ted Gaillard Barrel cut at 24". I use 43.5 grains of IMR4007 SSC under a 160gr Sierra BTSP(Game King) and it all Ignited by a Remington 91/2 primer, and a 150 Nosler Hunting Ballistic Tip with 45gr of the same powder. I regular shoot long range and the reason I like the Remington brass is I seen no difference in accuracy or pressure between the 7mm-08 or Neck Down 308 brass. Makes my life easy, and with Remington brass easy to find its an added bonus.

Cheers
Josh

I don't neck down brass for the reason stated above by Hoyt. I only neck up. So for 7-08 brass I would start with 243, that way if you get mixed up with head stamps you can't inadvertently fire the necked cartridges in the original head stamped rifle. That being said, I've fired factory 30-30 in a 38-55 H&R to make up some 38-55 brass. Blows out just fine. Firing 7-08 in a 308 would do the same. You would be back to 308 brass.
