7mm-08 moose loads

hello fellow gun nutz.

i own a winchester m70 in 7mm-08. currently i shoot 140 gr accubonds. my question is whether this is a adequate load for cow moose or whether i should choose a tougher built bullet.

shoot n kill, good bullet. As are the 140,150 partition and 160gr part, n accubond

I shoot 140 accubonds out of my 7mm '08. So far it's only accounted for deer But I wouldn't hesitate to use it on moose. Broadside lung shot and it will do it's job. If my daughter gets drawn for Moose or Elk it's what she'll be shootin'

My son uses the awsome 7mm08 and I load 139gr Hornady BTSP in it.
It shoots great and has killed Deer,Elk and Moose with no problems all three were one shot kills. The Deer and Moose were quite instant and the Elk we tracked for 60yds.

I have found that going heavier than 160grain bullets really reduces the effectiveness of bullet expansion.( at 300-400yds.) not a big deal, but just wanted to point out this tendency.

This is with the nosler partitions.

Different bullet designs may expand better.
