7MM-08 Need load data!

The load I worked up for Wrong Way was the 140TSX over 47 grains of H4350 loaded to spec length of 2.750"

No problem with pressures, good accuracy.

I load 7-08 for a guy, 140 tsx over 43 grains Varget. Chrony'd @ 2750 fps out of a 22" tube, and is fairly accurate. RL15 would be another good powder choice, among a few other similar powders

from the new Barnes #4 manual :

120 gr tsx

H4895 43.0 grs Max - 3031 fps
Varget 44.0 grs Max - 3025 fps
RL15 44.0 grs Max - 3081 fps
H414 50.5 grs Max - 3132 fps

140gr tsx

H4895 40.5 grs Max - 2752 fps
IMR 4064 42.5 grs Max - 2772 fps
RL15 42.0 grs Max - 2814 fps
H414 47.5 grs Max - 2863 fps

I would suggest backing off a few grains and working up slowly

I should have mentioned that H4350 is on the slow side for that round for sure... it just happens to be the only combo I have experience with.

It should be working around 2700fps give or take.

Barnes bullets need Barnes data. They're soild copper and don't fly the same as a regular lead cored bullet. Fortunately, they have data on their site under the 'Technical' link, in .pdf format, on the menu. 120's and 140's are there.
Add the W's. .barnesbullets.com/images/7mm-08RemingtonWeb.pdf

Barnes bulets to Barnes data - good point..

I have a load of 43 grains Varget under a 139 gr Hornady Interbond, @ 2.800 OL and chronied out of a Savage Model 16 w/ 22 inch barrel.

Velocity at 15 feet = 2,850 fps. Very, very acurrate hunting load...

Cheers

Lee

Understatement. :D

Whatever that load was, it allows my pencil barrelled mountain rifle to put the first two shots into the same hole at 100 M, with the third opening up to only 3/4" (due to heat I'm sure)

That 140 TSX at 2700 is good for everything I hunt (deer/B. bear/Moose) and accurate as hell....what mre could you want? :DIn fact, assuming my other shipment arrives ( ;) ), I'll be leaving the other rifles in the safe for all three seasons this year.

Thanks Jamie!

My m70 classic featherweight used to give solid 1.5 minute groups back when I was running H414 and Varget. Ok, but nothing exciting. Then I found R15, and accuracy went to .75 minute w/ 139 hornady's and 120 tsx. I'm running 44.0 gr. R15/ Win primers/ 120 tsx/ R-P brass. I'm about to try this in a new to me lvsf this weekend. I'm expecting good things.

Contacted Barnes about the H4350 and they have not tested that powder with any of thier components yet. Might pick up some H380, I have data for this powder. If you require Barnes data for 7MM-08 I have some established loads that work well in my 700 W/24" Barrel!
