Well the rifle should be in the mail next week. and it looks like work is slowing done just enough that i will have some time to go out and chase wolves around here on the island. i know the 7mm-08 might be a little heavy for wolves but well its as small as i have. i am think of maybe some 120 nosler Balistic tips or some speer varmit bullets. Does anyone else make a light 7mm bullet ?

Horn 120gr V-Max, Sierra 100gr HP, etc.

Honestly, I'd just use whatever bullets you have laying around. The wolf ain't gonna know the difference, and the heavies might do better on the hide...

The 120gr NBT makes for an excellent wolf/deer round. A good starting place is RL15 with the 120gr. NBT, with working up safely you should be able to achieve +2900fps. Ramshot Big Game is even better (harder to find), very temp stable and typically will give an additional 150fps.

Just about any deer load is a good wolf round.Shot mine with a 286gr SP in 9.3x62 cause that's what I was holding at the time the target presented it's self..........Harold

I would suggest using a barnes or a partion as half the time you have a shot at a wolf its running away.I have see what bt bullets do to wolves and i dont want to skin out a blob of blood shot gel.I have shot lots of wolves with barnes and partions and they work well with small holes.
