7mm-08 ..... your favourite choice and why

If I wanted to fill a gap in the inventory, with a medium to lightweight 7mm-08 rifle, what are some of the best choices out there these days?
Best accuracy is always the key ingredient, but other than that I am not going to state my intended purpose for it - I just want to hear what you-all are thinking in a general way at this point.
Wood vs synthetic or laminate, blue vs stainless, barrel length, DM or floor plate bolt/single shot/lever, the canvas is empty.

Just got a m70 supergrade this spring. Nothing I could imagine about changing with this rifle. Nice wood gloss blueing.

Intended purpose is huge. I just got a Rem 700 mountain SS in 7mm 08 as an all weather mountain gun. I'm not a fan of synthetic stocks and stainless steel so if it wasn't for that purpose it would not have been my first choice. I needed it to fill a role.

I have a stainless synthetic Sako 85 in 7-08 I really like.

I haven't shot it yet, but I have a T/C Pro Hunter with a 28" SS 7mm-08 barrel. I'm looking forward to a hot load to maximize my range and velocity and take advantage of that 28"...otherwise I may chop it down to 22" or look for an 18.5" bull barrel option for it.

I love my Browning A-bolt Micro Medallion the most. I also have a Sako A7 and a BLR in 7mm-08. I had an X-bolt Micro Hunter, but I bought it in LH and could not get used to it, after shooting RH rifles for well over 50 years. I have parked all my 308's for the time being, as I just love the 7mm-08.

I had a Rem 700 SPS and gave it to my son. Bought a 270 and then sold it a year later. Now I have an X-bolt in 7-08. Love the 7-08 but think I'm gonna have to start reloading. The ammo I want is pretty hard to find right now. That cartridge does everything I want from deer to elk.

I have a 700 BDL 7/08. Blued/trued receiver with new/unfired 22" stainless bbl in sporter contour. Pillar bedded into an Ultralight Wildcat and topped with a VXII 2x7 weighs only 6lb 11oz total.

One do very well with just one rifle like that.

I've been happy with my Kimber 84m in 7mm08. Its got a touch more kick than my buddy's vanguard in 270 due to the extreme light weight - but its not meant to be a bench gun. Wood/blued for this cowboy

My Kimber 84M 7mm-08 .. is the Classic Select in Stainless ... and .. I love this rifle

To me.. it is better than any of my previous (old or new series) Sakos,
better than any of my previous (pre-64 or new FN stainless/walnut) Winchesters,
better than the custom M700 Remy in 7mm-08 that shot 1 hole groups (that I sold, bought back, and then sold again).
to me .. this rifle is just .. well .. better.

And oh, did I mention that the highly-figured French walnut stock is nothing short of gorgeous?

On the other hand, I do own other stainless Kimbers that I also adore .. but they are not in 7mm-08.
And there is just something very very special about this calibre.

I feel the same about a recently acquired Ruger Hawkeye RSI in 7x57. Should be just the ticket for island Deer this fall, at least that's the plan.

I am using a Savage 11 in the CGNS (wood) model for my hunting (white tail & Black bear). It is light to carry, shoots excellent and most important get's the job done.

Buddy has a Winchester Extreme 7-08. It's a good rifle.

I managed to get one of those Remington 700, Boone And Crockett edition rifles in 7mm-08Rem. It shoots very well, and is a very sharp looking rifle. Handles very well, and is balanced perfectly for me.

I have a Savage Axis with Boyd's stock and Timney trigger, it puts 'em where I am point 'em, very happy with it.

I have a Kimber Montana in 7mm08, I am quite pleased with it, lighter and more accurate than the M70 featherweight I had in the same caliber I had previously. I really like the trigger on the kimber.

My moose rifle is a Weatherby Vanguard II Sporter (wood stock) in 7.08 - but not "light" tipping the scales at a couple ounces over 9 pounds with the mag loaded.

Mine lives up to the MOA guarantee shooting better than 3/4" "out of the box" with cheapo blue box Federal ammo and love the factory 2 stage trigger. With most places selling these for under 900 bucks it's tough to find a better value.

Never been a huge fan of plastic stocks and stainless barrels - solved problems that never existed for me. My 30-30 and 30.06 (Win 94/Rem 740) were built in the 1950's, were hunted for many years, not babied (and my cleaning/care regimen is less than attentive) and are still in good shape today. So figure if I live to be 110 years old, my wood stocked Weatherby should still be in fine shape...
