I sighted in my 280 using Federal ammo with 140 grain trophy bonded tip bullets.

Does anyone have any experience shooting game with these in either the 270, 280 or 7mm rem. Mag?

The 280 is my dedicated deer rifle, but I was wondering if it's adequate with that load for black bear and moose too?

From reports I've read, those have good expansion and weight retention. They are a bonded lead front end with a solid copper rear half. Similar to a partition except the rear is lead in a partition (and I'm not sure if the front half is bonded on the part)

A 7mm 140gr pill should be plenty for anything other than the big bears (griz/polar) and bison. I wouldn't hesitate to use one on elk or Moose.

I shoot 130gr. in .270 Win. after much research since Winchester discontinued the FailSafe/XP3 projectile.

Expands reliably and retains a fair amount of weight. I trust it.
