Looking for input on a bullet for whitetail deer. shooting a 7mm-08, 99% of shots under 50 yards, rare out to 150. Want something that will give good expansion at close range. Friend recommended Nosler Balistic tp or partitions. What I understand is that the ballistic tips are built for long range. How do they work up close? Thanks!

At 7-08 velocities, almost any bullet should work quite nicely. A Partition will give better penetration than a Ballistic Tip, but performance all depends on what you plan to use it for.

Ive shot the 129 hornady soft point interlock out of my 7 mag. and they shot very well. I knocked over a nice buck at about 50 yds and they held together preaty good for being shot out of a mag, not much lost meat . I'm going to try out the Hornady 154 Interbond. From what I've been told that they are a very good bullet. What appeals to me is that they are a bonded bullet and they have a 100 count. Good Luck

load up some Hornady 154 gr round nose interlocks

anything between 2300 fps and 2600 fps should do the trick

New to shooting and loading 7 * 57 and have some 139 gr flat points and soft points of same weight. Also have some 162 or so SST which in the 150 grain .308 have proven to be one hell of a big game bullet in the '06. Using IMR 4350 right now and have some range shooting to do before going out in the field. My 7mm Mauser chambered rifle is a Model 111 Savage with detatchable mag. Good luck.

7mm Mauser

In my Remington 700 , 139 grain Hornady's over 50 grains of H4350 when sighted in at 3 inches high at 100 yds shoots to point of aim out to about 275 yds.
There is no "bang-flop" icon so the dancing banana it is...........:dancingbanana:
