looking for recipes for a 7mm mag. just wondering what you guys have found that worked well. will be shot out of tikka with 22" barrel, (cut)

I've always had excellent results with 61.5 to 62 grains of IMR 4831 pushing a 160- to 162-grain bullet.

This is the load I always try first when playing with a rifle in 7mm Remington Magnum.

From a 22" barrel? That's going to be a real flamethrower. I'd suggest starting with a powder on the slightly faster-than-normal side for the 7mag. Your velocities will suffer a bit, but there's nothing you can do for a 22" barrel to attain 'normal' 7mag velocities anyway.

I'd suggest looking into 150 grain bullets, over 4350 or maybe even Varget for optimal results that won't leave you with a three-foot fireball at the muzzle and a 'three-day-ring' in your ears.

thanks
there was a prior issue with the gun that required the barrel to be cut.
and somebody had to buy a new bore-sighter:D
