Which of the 7mm's is most likely to make a person mentally handicapped? Would a 7RUM cause memory lapses? If someone shot an STW too many times could they become retararded? Also... if I rode the Short Bus for twelve years which shortmag would be best. Do they make a SBM? Short bus magnum?

Your mental illness is caused from clubbing yourself on the head with the rifle betwen shots........:D
The short bus magnum is the 338 Federal.

When you shoot, you're supposed to brace the butt of the rifle against your shoulder, not your head.

Are you asking me to do a Psychological Assessment on you? I will charge you a lower rate out of passion for your condition. ;) I wouldnt say that being handicaped is being mentally ill. Thats slow off the mark not all over the track.

I shoot 7mms all the time with my two buddies Tod Bartell and Mackillan and we're fine ...

Don't be cavalier about recoil. It can detach your retina's. If your vision goes funny, you have forty minutes give or take IIRC, to get to a doctor or lose your vision permanently as the retina is starved of blood. It usually happens in automobile accidents, but it can happen in much milder circumstances too.

You can get retinal transplants, but they only last a certain number of years, if you find a donor, and then you still have the nightmare of the anti-rejection drugs that are the chemical equivalent of artificial aids to keep your immune system from destroying the foreign tissue.

mmmm.... Tissue!

Bouncing your brain around overly much substantially increases risk for neurogenic disorder later in life. Dementia, early onset alzheimers, all the fun stuff.

It actually makes me wonder if lifelong shotgun shooters have boxer type ailments later in life from the brain pounding. I wouldn't be suprised, but until someone gets the money and the idea to do a double blind study..... we'll never know.

Are there a number of correlational studies? I have had a number of concussions in my life so boxers syndrome is something I worry about sometimes if a client threatens me or bops me. My problems as seen by these jokers would be frontal lobe related though lol. Boxing impacts on the rear of the brain as the brain is like a peanut with a hit to the front squishing the back of the brain. We are all bored trying to be funny here and Im sure they would be sympathetic to anyone injured.

I actually shoot with the butt planted against my upper arm, not my shoulder. This results in more give, such that I can't see how my brains are going to be banged around. Here's a couple photos that show the location of the butt when I shoot. I know a lot of other fellows shoot this way as well. I find it more comfortable. ...

I think the 325 is the official SBM. The 338 Federal is the SBS - Short Bus Standard!

Isn't the 338 is just another way of saying 8x57 Mauser?
And paying $50 more per box of ammo. :nest: :stirthepot2:  :D

This might explain the crazy inflated prices at gunshows and on the EE these days. :D

For some reason a poor economy means that their prices should go up. When the bite comes there will be some hard times in the industry.
