7mm weatherby mag ultralite mark IV

Don't you already have one or two 7mm Rem's. You will not see much of a gain in performance. But if the rifle is a good deal and you want it... go for it.. If you handload you can resize 7mm Reg brass into Weatherby by running it through your full length sizer...

As a hunting caliber the 7mm Roy is a great caliber go for almost anything we can kill in this country. We could debate all day on Weatherby's free bore and how accuracy "can" be effected. Personally I sold my Weatherby rifle because of accuracy issues and when to the Ultra mag instead but I also know a other people that have Weatherby calibers and have no issue with accuracy. If its a good deal and you don't mind spending the money on the brass/ammo I would pick it up for sure. Good luck look forward to seeing pictures of the new pea shooter.

Just get it and worry about the details later. :)

There is no difference between the Remington and Weatherby versions. They are both suitable for all North American game.

If you handload, no problem, you can use Norma brass or standard 7mm Rem brass (resized). If you don't handload, the weatherby will be very expensive as a range rifle.... but if just used for hunting, it will be fine.

I expect to eventually reload for the 257 and 7mm wby's and for the 7mm mag and for the 45/70 black powder. I need to go to handloading school first.

If you handload, your selection of rare or more expensive cartridge choices is not an issue. The more expensive a cartridge, the better the excuse to handload. Handloading a 308 when you can get rounds for 20 dollars a box is not a huge deal. But when its 75 dollars a box is makes sense to load and its totally worth it.
