7PRC or 300 PRC Experience

I did a quick search, but didn't find anything recent on either. I am thinking of getting anther rifle and have been thinking of both of these cartridges. I may be leaning more to the 7PRC, but wondering how people are finding them now?
I am looking do use it for a bit of everything and including elk hunting. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Long range elk the 300PRC is the way to go.

I have both ! 7 PRC - 7 REM Mag 300 PRC - 300 WIN Mag
They won’t KILL game any better !
The ability to shoot Heavy long bullets because of longer throat barrels with the PRCs and there shorter bodied cases . RJ

I would go 300 PRC, I have had several rifles built on this cartridge and done a pile of handloading for it as well, being able shoot anything from 165gr to 245gr really is a nice option to have, lots of aftermarket brass available as well.
Of course either cartridge will get the job done I believe the 300 PRC is better suited for Elk.

I am looking at getting a lighter rifle, probably around 8.5 to 9.5lbs ready to hunt. How do you think the recoil would be with a brake on it?

No problem at all, 8-9lb rifle with a brake is about perfect for a hunting rig, recoil will be very manageable.

then go buy a 7 rem mag.
