7x33 sako.
I have a beautiful Sako L46 in 7x33 Sako and I have been searching for bullets and brass for the 7x33.
I bought the CH4D reloading dies and tried a few options to make the brass. The best donor brass is a 5.45x39. Fortunately, I had 300 - 400 Hornady make 5.45x39 at home. It is virtually the same brass – yes you have shorten it but it has the same dimensions. So just shorten it and one pass thru the FL sizing die and – I have a new, perfect brass.
There is another option - the 350 legend case – it makes beautiful 7x33 brass and all you do is trim the case to 35mm in length then re-size in your 7x33 die and voila' one perfect case!!
Finding the proper bullets is another story ...
The original bullets is 78gr., .286” diameter and not available. I was swaging a 7.62x25 Tokarev (85gr) FMJ (.3065) Bullets by PPU to .285” using a Lee dies and it worked just fine. Accuracy is 1.5” or slightly better at 100 yards.
A few months ago I contacted Steve at Hammer Bullets and I asked If he can make a bullet for the 7x33 Sako. He agreed and now he has it on his website. I just ordered 500.
