Looking for a load. It's in a rem 700 rifle. So It's modern. Gonna use it on deer. I want to use either 140 or 150 gr. nosler partitions. What do you fellas have for me? Thanks a million.

Dave.

139gr. Hornady BTSP's, Winchester brass,
H or IMR4350
start about 44gr, work up in 1/2grain steps till you reach optimum accuracy, most modern rilfes top out for pressure at about 49grains.
No real need for a guchi bullet, you wont pass 3000fps, and the Hornady's will hold together plenty good.

H4350 47.5gr Nosler BT and Partions 140gr bullet

H414 49.0 gr Nosler BT and Partion 140gr bullet

IMR4350 49.0 Nosler BT and Partion 140 gr Bullet

Remington model 700 7x57 Mauser 1981 Classic :D

I have a 7x57 in a Winchester 70 Featherweight and get consistent groups under 1.5 inches with this:

150 Nosler Partition
45.2 grains IMR 4350
Federal 210 primers
Winchester brass

Good luck!

I've had very good success both accuracy-wise as well as in terms of terminal perfomance on deer through moose-sized game with H414 (2 grains shy of max) in the 7x57, behind the 140 grain Nosler Partitions and the 139 grain Hornady Interlocks.

A few weeks ago, the 140 grain TSX has worked excellently for me in the 7x57 on a very nice Kudu and Springbuck.

The 140 grain Sierra Game Kings, also with H414 and H4895, provides very good accuracy in the 7x57 and I hope to use those bullets on deer at some point.

I have a Remington 700 Mountain Rifle, and shoot 150 Partitions using WW brass, WLR primer and 52.5 grains of Norma MRP. Accurate and good velocity. Moose are in trouble with this load! Regards, Eagleye

150gr Nosler Partition, 41gr IMR4895 (BRNO 21H)
Same load with 160gr Partition on Moose.
Actually I use 41gr IMR4895 with any bullet between 139 and 160.:p

Cheers

Martin

Deer are easy to kill. Shot placement matters.

Deer in eastern Canada are close range. Most of mine are shot at less than 50 yards. Therefore a heavy bullet is good so I don't destroy a lot of meat. the other advantage of finding the accuracy load for a heavy bullet is that the same load will work well on moose. If you are in the east, the Nosler is not required and the soft tip will do more harm than good. In fact, I load the heavy Hornady round nose bullets.

If you are in the West, your Nosler makes a lot of sense.

My load is a 160 gr round nose and 45 gr of 4350. Worked well on both deer and moose.
