Good to know.
I want it for an FN-49, so would prefer the 139gr round, with Soft Point for hunting use.
Do you know if the burn rate and pressure curve is suitable for a semi?
A lot of modern hunting ammo has a flatter curve to boost the velocity. The problem is that the pressure is too high at the gas port.

If you're asking me, I don't have a clue.
I'd try to find out what the service round was for the FN-49 and go from there.
The original Spanish 173 gr. round-nose load was somewhere around 2,300 ft/s, and the updated 139 gr. spitzer load was around 2,790 ft/s.
I have been told that the military 139 gr. load is pretty hot to shoot in my rifle, even though it was intended for it.
I suspect the iron sights were calibrated for it and that is why the bullet impact is about 2" high from my aiming point on the target.
The 173 gr. RN load is supposed to have a fairly flat trajectory, but I've read that the 139 gr. load shoots like a laser beam.
I don't know what either of them will do in your rifle, but keep in mind that the M1 Garand was designed for 150-152 gr. bullets, as compared to 180 gr. ones.
Unless the pressure is reduced in the heavier loads, it is supposed to pound the hell out of the rifle.
