so...

i did some reaserch and i guess its 7mm mauser ammo, here is the problem, it is not carried by the gun shops locally so i was wondering if anyone knows a good place to get this ammo close to windsor ontario OR if there is a canadian supplier that ships without breaking the bank

thanks
mike

Well it's not really the std. 7mm mauser, but the 7X57R, which can be reloaded with the same dies but is a rimmed Euro. round for use in their break action guns, like drillings, vierlings, mtn. rifles, etc. Brass will be hard to find, but avail. in the USA. Maybe Privi or some such.

Tradex Canada has it in stock for about $25.00 a box. It's Sellier and Bellot ammo. I've used Sellier and Bellot in my 8 x 64S and have no complaints. The brass is even pretty good for reloading.

The shipping of loaded ammo is going to be expensive due to the haz met fee. The more you order the cheaper per round. This would be a good excuse to get in to reloading if you're not already!

I have a couple of 7x57R's, and have not had much trouble finding Norma ammo, and also have bought RWS and Sellier & Bellot in various stores. Any store that sells any of these brands should be able to order you a case and then you will be set for a while.

I am looking for some RWS 7x57R and cannot find an RWS dealer in Alberta. Where are you ffinding it if you don't mind. The 140 grain RWS will shoot inch groups out of my drilling but the easier to find Sellier and Bellot 173 grain strings vertically a couple of inches.

As to shipping cost, Tradex charges 18 dollars for one to as many boxes as you want, so as long as you are order a couple of boxes or more it really isn't an isse.
