Eureka !!!
Thought I would F/U my new short shotty from Can Am. if I tried this but it works !!! I read somewhere that if you got a mag. end cap with a detent you could manage to get 3 rnds. in the short mag tube on the 8.5" Grizzley.

Well sitting here noticed some indents on the mag tube to keep the ratchet lock device for the end cap in place. Then measured the distance of a 3rd. round I was trying to cram in the tube and saw I need aprox. 1/2 inch more room so I cut the Mag follower in half (a little more than a 1/4") and did the same to the indent mag cap retainer. Almost fit and ratchet still functioned but the 3rd rnd was tight to get in, so another 1/16 did the trick and now the little fat bastard carries 4 rnds lol !!!!

Yeah what he said lol !!!
I've been playing with it since and it seems to be reliable with the dummy rounds.
Will take it up to the ranch (cabin) this weekend to break it in with live fire.

I wish they would make a 8" magfed

If you're going to go short... why not go all the way :D

Good mod man. I did the same to mine and it works awesome. Only sucky thing is that the ratchet doesn't work and my mag cap gets loose now. No big deal though, just have to keep checking it

I have a similar pistol grip stock on mine with the telescoping part on it. I got a little worried that it makes the gun restricted so I took it off. I would check to make sure that is legal. As far as I know, if the stock can telescope to less than 26" overall, than it has to be registered as restricted.

Nice rig though

Edit: I just saw that it wasn't yours - on your wish list. Ooops

Triden,
I cut just enough off the top cap with the ratchet teeth so that I could use the key slots in it and in the mag tube, and that enabled it to stay in position when pressed down with the mag cap inplace then the ratchet worked and the cap does not work loose. Does this make sense as I explained it? I cut 1/4" off the top one and 1/4 off the orange bottom one. Was worried the bottom one would then bind but it doesn't.
I tried it out and found that I could almost get three rnds. in the mag. tube so took about 1/8" more and Eurika it works fine. Metal mag cap still locks as well with no fears of working loose because of recoil. I should take pictures of the material I removed when I get off work.

can always make your own:

-need a mag fed receiver, cut the tube down to size and re-thread to fit mag cap
-get shorty barrel, fore end + rails
-install and presto! shorty mag fed

Of course you would have sacrifice a shorty to get the shorty barrel and fore end, and then you would have a useless shorty receiver (cant mount longer barrels)
