8 mm mauser

Anyone got any info on an 8mm mauser stamped G.41 DUV 43 , she is a semi auto which loads from the top , it is missing the cleaning rod but rifle is mint condition , she is heavy , would like to find ammo to try it.
let me know what you know .

Everytime i think i can make ends meet some damm fool moves the ends.

OMG what a POS rifle!!! .. Here.. here ..I'll give you a nice nagant instead of that hideous heavy klunky rifle. Trust me I'm doing you a favor.

He sent me some pics. But I was told it is sold as of now. :(

It has been sporterized. Butt plate removed, and rubber recoil pad in place. Stock sanded, bolt handle chopped and re-welded onto right side of the bolt carrier, missing cleaning rod, sling, and sight hood, kinda rusty too.

The rifle also has a curious sight on it. It is a peep sight, similar to an M1 Garand at the rear of the receiver, and has the original sights removed/chopped off?? He was told by someone that it is correct for that model... but IMHO, through all the reference material I have on G41/43's and talking to friends that have 'em, this is a job done by bubba long ago, but then again, you never do really know for sure I guess.

(Could be a post war/late war jobby done by another country/vopo/police???)

Anyhoo, hope that gives you a semi-visual to :jerkit:... jk ;)

Cheers, and congrats to the cat that bought it. Will be a cool restoration project! :dancingbanana:
