80% Dlask ar15 lowers

i have to admit i find this subject of interest also
if you read the american gun forums there are alot of people making their own lowers and some doing the upper. if there is any place not worth making a ar15 lower because of cost i would think its the states
you should see the crude tools these people use to do this
how would you like a 1911 frame with dremel cut slide rails
i have access to milling and lathe equip and ill consider it
stamp a serial# on it and register it, that would give me more pride in owning it

If you finish an 80% lower yourself do you have to put a serial no. on it? It doesn't require any manufacturers info stamped on it and I know that weapons with no serial no. have been imported (marstar m48's). I wouldn't mind having a super clean looking lower.

As far as I know you don't need a serial number, and no the CFC doesn't always issue a sticker with a number.

I know of a few rifles without serial numbers, where there is no sticker. The registration shows a blank and the gun doesn't have and never had a sticker, nor the registration come with one.

This is typical of the CFC, there is no consistency.

i know old guns with no ser# originally can get away with it but how can a modern gun be allowed without now
would the cfc not force you to add one even if you imported a manufactered gun that came without
i also would prefer a clean looking reciever but not if its going to lead to hassles

lol, i guess i was assuming too much when i thought maybe a $2+billion system would have more consistency, but from what i've been reading the past 3 or 4 years... i should have known better
