Hey everyone. I have yet to see any info put out there about the Eld-vt really so I figured I would share my findings in my Bergara HMR Pro with a 26” barrel and 1:7.5 twist.
Note: this gun is a known hammer and shoots a few bullets very well.
I made some very nice loads in the end with sufficient velocity but great accuracy. That being said I found the bullet very temperamental. I went from be best load to terrible in .4 gr. I may revisit eventually to see if maybe I can find a hotter load to run but I really don’t see the need to as I’m getting what I need anyways.
Here are the two loads:
Lapua small rifle
H4350 43.7gr
Cci small rifle #400
OAL of 2.690
3405 fps with an SD of 4
Hornady large rifle
H4350 43.7gr
Fed match
OAL of 2.690
3370 fps with SD of 3.5
Both neck sizing and FL sizing work fine. Also I’m not sure if it’s just my gun but it liked a lot of jump.
Both group exceptional and I shot the loads of to 800 yards with groups staying small. I’ll include the target and chrono readings for the hornady load.
Let’s hear your experiences.
