Ok, I am impressed , I just got a 817 Mossberg in .17HMR and took it to the range to sight in yesterday. I was told previously that these guns were "alright" but not real shooters as they are cheaply made. Well I agree in one sense, it was quite inexpensive ( under $200 ) but wow can that gun shoot. I was getting consistent groups , dime size at 100 yards.
So anyone who may have reservations about some of the less inexpensive models , don't worry, the only worry should be from the gophers,
one of which was unlucky at 110 yards at the back of the range.
Just my two cents
