870 +2 mag and spring

So I just bought a Remington factory mag tube. It came with a extremely long spring. Does anyone know how long the mag spring should be for a +2? Am I just being paranoid?

If you can stuff it all in the tube, and if it gives you the correct magazine capacity, then it's not a problem, right? I wouldn't worry unless there is a problem with function.

If it is too hard to load, then start trimming coil by coil until it feels rights. Also, if it is too long it may bind inside the mag tube and cause your follower to snag on the joint where your extension screws on to the original mag tube. That happened to me.

Also, make sure to remove the two small mag tabs inside the original mag tube if your gun has them.

IIRC it should be 12" to 14" longer than the tube it will be in.
