Quick question...has anyone actually seen or have pictures of an 870 with a bayonet attached (the proper mount, not duct tape:) )? Is there anyone who makes the mount currently? Not that I really need it, but I'm sure the "cool Factor" would be high...
 
Only shotgun I've seen with a bayo lug is the milspec Mossberg 590 (I don't know what the exact model number is, but I'm sure some of the guys on here have them and can confirm it for you)...

Repete was telling me that they do make a bayonet lug for the 870, but he was saying that it is more expensive than most 870s themselves. The Mossberg takes an M16 bayonet so that they can be interchanged; there is a picture of one installed on my link about my Mossberg here.
 
I have never seen pics of an 870 with the bayo attached. Only pics of the attachment, I hope this is of use

I read somewhere on the net that USMC custom-build their own lug for 870. I had found one for sale on a european site some months ago put can't find it anymore....
If i remember correctly it was about 40 euros, and looked a lot like this:

On page 426 of the Worlds Fighting Shotguns by Thomas F Swearengen, CWO, USMC (Retired), is a pic of the Remingtom adaptor with the bayonet attached.

FWIW: The adaptor is only the clamp w/lug. The middle screw locates the mag tube.

Argonaut Armaments, now TacticalShotgun.ca had a pic. rail for the side of a shotgun that you could attach at bayonet onto. But I am not sure who makes a bayonet mount for a pic. rail (have found a lot of rails that mount on a bayonet though)

That was Brobee's homemade bayo and mount.
