Have any of you removed the cantilever mount from a rifled 870 slug barrel?

There are two Allen screws, once I remove those the cantilever still appears fastened to the barrel.

Is there an epoxy or contact cement of some sort that is applied at the factory between these surfaces?

Have you try using a heat gun?

It should be hot enough to break lose red locate and most epoxy without hurting the bluing or parkerized finish.

I would think it is attached the way most barrel ribs are attached and brazed or silver soldered on. Suitable application of heat and or careful grinding or filing would be the order of the day, which brings back the question asked earlier, why remove it? If you want a rifled barrel with iron sights, just sell or trade it off.
