Hi, I was in upstate new york this weekend, and I seen a Mossberg 500 Bullpup (factory). I got looking around and I seen there is a kit sold (US) to convert my 870 Express. The don't ship to Canada. The conversion keeps the guns dimension's legal, so I was hoping to find a similar kit in Canada. Any thoughts?

PROHIBITED DEVICES

Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 9

1. Any electrical or mechanical device that is designed or adapted to operate the trigger mechanism of a semi-automatic firearm for the purpose of causing the firearm to discharge cartridges in rapid succession.

2. Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the type known as the “bull-pup” design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position.

Wrong. Factory or not makes no difference. If the firearm can be fired without the stock it's prohib.

Wrong again. The stock is prohibited, not the firearm. Bullpup firearms are not illegal (like the non-restricted KSG), stocks that make non-bullpup firearms into bullpups are illegal (prohibited device).

Being able to fire without the stock is irrelevant.
