870 express Mag tube jamming

Hey guys,
a buddy of mine bought an 870 express the one with the 18.5 and the +2 mag tube. Pretty much since day one he has had trouble loading the tube mag to capacity (one short, as in he can only get 5 in the mag, 2 3/4 of course) He did some light filing to try and take down any edges and i ordered him an S&J no jam follower. Thought that would fix it but to no-avail, anyone have the same issue (or similar) and know what needs to be massaged in order to fix this issue?

take +2 mag tube off, screw the +2 magtube nut on tight then put in the spring and follower, then screw the +2 tube into the nut and install clamp.
Many peopel just screw the nut onto the +2 tube then instal, this is wrong.
try this then let us know.

Somethings catching where the extension meets the mag tube. I just used some scotchbrite taped to a piece of dowel in the drill and took it to the edges of the extension and the mag tube. No problems since.

This happened to me on Saturday, I could only fit 3 in my 870 express tube. Something's jamming up in there so I'm going to have to play with it.
