870 FACTORY Drilled & Tapped Receivers

Does anyone own an 870 with factory drilled & tapped receiver holes for mounting a picatinny rail? ...Pics?

1. If no pics, how many holes are there?
2. What year was the SG made.
3. Are the holes drilled & tapped thru or are they blind?

1-i have the 870 tactical and it has 4 tapped holes in the top of the reciever.

2- this year as i just bought mine new.

With the action open...When you look in the ejection port do you see the screw holes or tips of the mounting screws inside the receiver?

i see the screw holes.except for the one hole near the barrel as the barrel blocks that hole.i dont have anything mounted right now.

The only reason I ask is because I'm going to drill & tap by own receiver to match a Mesa rail and wasn't sure if factory holes went all the way through.

I hate to bother, but could you pull the barrel and check out the forward hole? The material is so thin there that I'm not sure if I'll get 1, maybe 2 threads.

I'm just not sure if drilling and tapping the forward hole is worth it?
