Other than going full tactical with Wilson traklocks, what are the options available for a raised bead/sight on a plain barrel that has been shortened? I think I found the part number for the police style front base but I have to order it through a dealer from gravel with the accompanying bead which I'm not sure what the P/N is.

I have no problems soldering or manipulating metal to meet my needs.

I’ve done two different kinds of raised front sights on short barrels, a 12.5” and a 14”. The one was soldered on and the second was a cut down ramped sight that was original to the barrel. The soldered one has a rear rifle sight as well but would work on its own depending on the front sight height.

If you’re just looking for a raised pedestal it should be fairly easy to make one, provided you’re handy and have the basic handtools.

I hadn't taken the thought of making a ramp into consideration, and it might suit the look of this gun better than a factory piece. I'll have a look around the shop,.I should have some steel I can shape into something.

The Truglo Glo-Dot II front sight just snaps on the barrel, same as issued with the new Winchester pump shotguns. While they are designed to push up against a front bead, I've found that depending on the size of your barrel it will snap on tight enough that it won't move unless snagged.
