I managed to strip everything on my 870 trigger assembly (wich i'm planning to blast&spray), everything but the hammer/action bar lock...
How can i remove the hammer pin?
On the trigger group in front of me, it looks like it's held in by a rivit. It looks like you can probably drift the sob out, but without a new replacement on hand in case you pooch the origional, I'd be tempted to mask and pray.
i don't consider mask & pray an option as i'll black oxide (caswell BO) all metal parts of the gun. guess i'll just tap it out (seems a lot harder to do than every other parts of the assembly tough), if ever i break the pin i'll PM the very helpfull Arwen Ace... again.
At the factory, the trigger pin is put in and then the end (R side) is swaged outwards to prevent if from coming out. Most trigger plate assemblies (trigger groups) have a washer on the pin. Earlier guns did not have a washer. You can carefully squeeze the end of the pin with a pliers a little bit at a time to remove the swage. Good luck Ix!
