After getting my 870 MM back from TacOrd, I decided to go to OSGC and try out my new Enidine recoil reducing stock and Ghost ring sights with some new challenger slugs that I picked up at Gagnon Sports. (Holy high prices batman!
) Previous to this excursion I had only tried some buckshot, which is neither a test of the recoil reducing stock, not the sights.
For those who are wondering about the enidine, you can shoot slugs all day long. The recoil is gone. Man does this unit work like a charm. You need a slightly more square stance than with the factory stock, but wow, this thing really babies your shoulder.
The ghost rings sights make an 18" MM perfectly good for deer to 100 yards, at least with the challengers. The Trijicon/ScattergunTech Ghost Rings are easy and work even better than I thought. After a few shots (10) to sight in and get a feel for the stock, I could get all my shots into a 10" pie plate standing. I'm sure I could do even better as I was trying to simulate hunting (zombies?) with an off stance, and quick trigger pull rather than slow careful aiming and regular breathing.
Hands down winner! @ 25 yards I'm shooting for groups, at 50 your in the 7 to 10 rings if you do your part and at 100 yards deer sized targets beware.
I have a new favourite toy.
