For owners of each, and people who have tried both, wich would you choose?

I was saving for the MM, but a friend introduced me to Fabarm trainer in nickel. It is in the 2006 catalogue on their website. Looks nice. My question is for reliability, durability etc... which is better?

Any opinions appreciated. My reason for saving up for one of these is RUST!!! I hate it. I am also a slob, and a little lazy. Anything that makes my shotty tougher is good in my book.

P.S. Any comments on the ???Karbon??? finish whatever the heck that is???

Well, the Fabarms doesn't have to be nickel as the receiver on the regulars is aluminum (I guess the barrel you'd have to worry about a little).

The 870mm is also going to be much heavier.

I'd save some bucks and get the regular SDASS... or save even more and get a regular 870 then have it armacoated.

~Cheers

Fabarm barrels are chrome lined. So even with the standard guns your bore is safe from corrosion. However if you are looking at long term durability the Rem 870 likely has an edge.

Why do you say that? I cannot find any info on the thickness of the nickel plating etc...

I am hoping to get the most rust resistant/well made simple/reliable/durable pump without breaking the bank.

I hearn 100% approval for the MM so I was going to buy that, but I think the Fabarm may be better for the same price (More or less).

Never even seen the Fabarm, but I have absolutely zero regrets about buying my (old style electroless nickel) MM, neither does my wife (when I did the sheepish bought another gun on impulse thing she took one look at it and said "Oh my god, it's beautiful") would buy another one in a heartbeat, have had nothing but fun with it, and have a set of Wilson Combat ghost ring sights to put on it the moment I can get to the gunsmiths. And the recoil pad is really nice; my seven-year-old nephew managed four shots before he lost shoulder weld and it kicked him.

I can't guarantee that your wife will forgive you for impulse buying one like I did, but I can recommend the MM unreservedly.
