Hey,

I have a Remington 870 Express that's not very old. The fore end is rubbing the hell out of a line on both sides of the magazine tube. Is this normal? Is there an easy way to fix this?

It is normal... the Express finish is crap (looks like spray paint), you can scratch it off with your finger nail.

My 1300 Practical Defender has a very nice deep-blue - I've schucked it at least 1000 times and there is no noticeable wear on the tube.

A Solution would be to have it re-painted/re-finished with something stronger/better (but then you are getting close to the cost of a Wingmaster;))

It may be that you have a small burr on the slide that is causing the line on both sides of the mag tube. You may be able to remove the burr with emery paper or a small file. But the slide , slides on the mag tube and there will always be some wearing of the blue or parkerizing.

Normal. It cannot be stopped.

It's caused by the front to back twisting when the action is operated. They all do it.

Just get some cold blue and keep touching it up. Ain't no thang.

RePete.
