There's a lot out there and just wanted some opinions. My main issue is I want something with a bit shorter lop and more comfortable. So far I have narrowed it down to the hogue and magpul sga. Magpul looks nice but price point on the hogue is also attractive.

Here's the 870 it will be going on. Don't plan on running an optic on this one.

The Hogue short stock is 12" LOP. It's pretty short for most people. Average-height adults not used to it will often punch themselves in the nose with their thumb under recoil. I've got long arms, but I still prefer the short Hogue stock on my 870 for action shooting (though NOT for serious wingshooting). Once you get used to the different stance required (square-on, like modern carbine stance), the shorter overall length makes it noticeably quicker-handling. Nice tacky rubberized surface on the wrist of the Hogues, too.

You can find Remington Factory 13" LOP Youth stocks out there, which could be a good compromise. There's also a Remington factory stock with swappable inserts to change it from 12" to 14" (regular) LOP.

The Magpul stock is heavy relative to the others, but offers some different features if you want them.

I picked up a mesa/VLTOR for a good deal so I'm going to try running that. I run a pistol grip on my semi-auto 12ga and my 8.5" norc so I think it'll do the trick. If not I'll grab the hogue.

I just changed out my SGA for a Mesa LEO with CTR and Hogue grip. While it is nice, the angle where the grip meets the adaptor is rather uncomfortable. I'm gonna try a grip with a more vertical angle.
I do feel like I have more control with the pistol grip and I like the ease of adjustable LOP. It also seems to have changed the balance and made it more neutral.
