So i want a pistol grip stock for my 870, but i don't really want an adjustable one. They don't look like i could get a very good cheekweld with them. I was looking at a speedfeed III but the reviews i've read on them have been less than spectacular. anyone have any other options for me or experience with the speedfeed III?

Hmm.. I'll try to find a pic..

That stock... on a buffer tube.

Speedfeed IV

I've found the Speedfeed IV stock to be comfortable and help with recoil. I've got a couple. (I think the III just has the shell holders). What did you hear about the Speedfeed III you didn't like?

Ya, I have a Speedfeed IV-S which is the pistol grip full stock with no shell holder and the S stands for short length of pull (stupid stubby arms :D). I don't have any complaints about the stock itself. It fits well and is good quality as far as I can tell. Only problem with mine is that with the short length of pull, it reduced the surface area of the butt which increased recoil so now I am waiting on a recoil pad for it.

well what i read about the III was trhat recoil makes teh shells stick in and imposibel to get out without a screwdriver. and i've heard that people have had issues installing them. Also i can't seem to find any canadian dealers that sell them, and any american dealers i've found won't ship to canada. so where did u guys get your speedfeeds? and if you don't mind my asking how much?

Bought mine here

Price + $15shipping got it to my door in under 2 weeks.

I had to remove some plastic to make the shells move in and out a little easier, as well as be able to store a total of 4 shells in the stock (two each side).

Super small issue and only took about 10 minutes to make it work buttery smooth.

The new Mesa Tactical Urbino might be an option if you don't mind $pending.

so i've decided i really like the speedfeed III, but i'm having a hell of a time trying to find one in canada and no one will ship them to canada from the state. does anyone have a source they'll share with me?

I don't know about the Speedfeed, but the ATI products I have tried have all been uniformly lousy and cheaply made.

The Shurshot-style stocks sold by Remington are inexpensive, easy to install, and very comfortable. Well worth the money, even though they are a bit goofy-looking.

the reason i like the SPIII is the shell carrier in the stock. i don't want an adjustable stock, they've just never been very comfy for me on a shotgun. anyone know of a pistol grip stock non adjustable(regular sized) with a built in shell carrier that is available in canada?
