870 SuperMag forend

I was hoping to install a Magpul forend. I have read a few posts on other sites that said a quick mod with a dremal is all it takes. But no details on where and how. No pictures. I don't really want to order on and have it shipped to find out I can't make it work. I thought being an 870 everyone would be able to give me the answers I need.

My guess is the reason you aren't getting an answer... is NONE OF US KNOWS!
Your 3.5" 870's are actually VERY uncommon, compared to 3" 870's (probably the majority of those made). But among older Wingmasters, lots of them are 2.75" ONLY.
And most of the people who do have 3.5" 870's likely have not modified them.
My suggestion is to simply buy and modify. Get it in your hand, compare the magpul forend to the forend you just took off your 3.5", and see what differences there are. I mean, you are only risking $24...

Just to update. The MOE forend fits my 870 supermag perfectly. No modification needed. Not sure what the difference is. I even measured the travel and its exactly the same with both old and new forend. I put 75 rounds through it today without issue. Only 2 3/4" target loads.
