870 Tactical XS Front Sight Removal?

Hey guys,

Long story short, I'm looking at picking up an 870 Tac with XS GR sights, but want to put a 14" barrel on it. I was thinking of taking the XS front sight off the Tac barrel and reinstalling it on the 14" Barrel.

Does anyone know how the sight is secured? Is it just silver soldered and will need to be torched off?

On a side note, does anyone know the height of the stock front sight? I would consider buying a ramp like so https://www.brownells.com/shotgun-p...ght-parts/shotgun-shorty-ramps-prod16150.aspx
and just installing that instead.

I prefer something more seamless. I cant find the banded front sight for sale separate anyways.
