Looking for a reasonable asking price for a mid '80's Remington 870. 16 Gauge, it functions perfectly, has a few marks, but hasn't been hunted with that much. Cant seem to find much of a going rate in the EE. Thanks for the help guys.

Plain barrel full choke 16ga is a hard sell. I walked a gun show today with an Ithaca 37 16ga best offer was $150 so it could be resold for maybe $225. I'll keep it for that. You may get $250.

Thanks guys, that's a little depressing, will hang on to it for sure for that. Love the gauge as it is a little different, and the gun shoots great.

sometimes this is all you can do - just keep it, look at it now and again and think of all the people who perhaps owned it and the adventures it went on...

Full choke with 2 3/4 chamber. Not sure if there is such a thing as a 3" 16 gauge.

3macs1 wouldnt ask if they (Remington) didnt make one :)
They (Wingmasters) retail for about a grand new and a used one sells from 35 to 50 % less than new.
Are you and up and coming collector of Remingtons?
Cause that would be one consideration on buying this particular firearm.
Rob

It appears I am a little too generous.....

Vent rib and a mod choke and you could add about $200 to it. Plain barrel and full choke is not what the 16ga guys are looking for
I have I think 6 or seven 870's in 16ga, The choke tubed ones bring the best money meaning original VR guns fitted with thin walls or the second generation 16ga 870's that came with rem chokes
Cheers

I think the last time this shotgun came out a buddy originally from Australia used it when we did a pheasant hunt. He had a great time and I think kind of got him back into hunting. He hunted in Australia but was kind of hesitant here i think, mostly because of the rules he was used to back home.

On a side note, anytime anyone asks me why I need an AR, I remember him shooting mine and turning to me saying " that by far is the funnest thing I have ever shot in my life"

Again thanks for the heads up guys on the price.
