I cam across some ammo that is in a weird shaped box. The top of the box says

10 Stuck
8mm M. 30 scharfe
S-Patronen
Rottw.
1938

is then has a big red S on top of it all.
it also has a warbird sitting on top of a swastica (not sure how to spell it)
inside the boxes is to magazine type stripper clips with 5 rounds on each.
on the rounds it says VIII 19 38 and again it has the german warbird ontop of the swastica.

what can you guys tell me about this stuff? is it collectable or valuble?
the only probalem is I don'r have a gun to shoot it;)

Should look like this.....

It's some Austrian 8X56r or, if you prefer, the 8X56R Austrian designed M/30 in Austria and M/31 in Hungary, made in the Gustloff-Werke Otto Eberhardt-Patronenfabrik. in 1938.
The firearms wich shot this ammunition were the Solothurn machinegun, Mannlicher M/35 and the modified M/95.

And yes, it is somewhat collectible, but the price is not very high because it is quite common since 2 - 3 years. When the stocks will lower, then, it will be back in value again.

thats the stuff. what would a fair price be for 6 boxes all in very nice shape. nice crisp edges on the boxes.

thanks

We could find those for about 8.00-10.00 $ / a box lately.
But I don't know what is the selling price in your area. The best guess for you will be to visit your local (or area) gunshow.

Hope that helps, anyways.
