Eagleye, the 323 bullets will fit into some chambers, no problem. I have an Israeli K98 that had 8mm (.323) bullets loaded into the 7.62x51 case, because of loader inattention to detail. I took them to the range and shot them. The results were terrible, all over the paper etc. The recoil was slightly increased as well but I thought it was just me.
I only shot 5 of the rounds and put the rifle back into the case.
There was no problem in chambering at all. The rifle functioned fine. I did check the recoil faces on the action for set back as it was a 45 dated dot action. All was and is well.
If uncle Rico meant, would the 8x57 round chamber, then I agree, NO it wouldn't.
I honestly don't think the .323 bullets, loaded into 308Win cases would chamber in a commercial rifle like a Remington, Winchester or Tikka. Their chamber tolerances are a lot tighter than the Israeli conversions.
