Well I have to say the Markham Gun Show wasn't anything special...sporterized No 4 Mk1s going for 400-500 smackers!!...pure madness. Anyways I digress, the show wasn't a complete let down. I picked up 83 rounds of assorted 8mm Mauser ammo for $40! and a 10 pack of WW2 .303 still in the paper wrap for $5.

I took some pictures to share. Can anyone tell me what I've got in terms of 8mm I picked up? Most of it looks like Yugo/Czech surplus which I take is corrosive? There were a couple others marked differently.

The stuff on the right in the cardboard boxes is all the green cased surplus stuff you see below it. I just took out a few to show.

Thanks in advance

p379 is WWII German .
22 71 the lacquered steel case ones appear to be WWII German also . would not shoot these as sometimes they look perfect on the outside and are all rusted out on the inside.waiting to grenade your rifle. And they are collectable now.

I have run into 9mm Para with that same MM 43 headstamp.

Shot really well, but I will not shoot my last 2 rounds of it!

Oh, the things you do when you are young and dumb and the stuff is $2.50 for a box of 64!!!

Both the 9mm and 7.92mm were a CIA contract with Defence Industries in Canada for eventual supply to US backed guerilla groups in Central America. The dates run from 1941 to 1945 and it is believed ten years should be added to these to get the actual date of manufacture.

It is high quality non corrosive Boxer primed ammunition and at one time was quite common on the surplus market.
