Does anyone know of any dealers that sell commercial 8mm Mauser ammo in large quantities? I've able to find lots of dealers that sell 8mm Mauser by the box but that's it. I know I won't be paying surplus prices but that's the cost of not wanting to shoot corrosive. However, as I'm buying in bulk I am expecting bulk prices. Not interested in paying $25 per 20-round box when I'm buying 500 rounds. Thanks in advance guys.
 
Surplus ammo won't hurt your rifle, but if you've got bags of money laying around for commercial loads, try Henry at Budget when he gets back from holidays. He can generally get any size order you want.
 
Trade-Ex has pretty decent pricing and free shipping on case lots.

Otherwise, handloading is IT.

Easy round to handload; I have been doing it since 1964.

I have fired lots of surplus 8mm over the years. When you by surplus be careful and always check condition first. If you find German ammo, the worst stuff is around 1944 - 45. The Turkish stuff is very dirty. There is a post on YouTube about 8mm surplus. Very informative. If you find steel core or casing check for corrosion. I have had case ruptures from old 1945 stuff.
 
If you're "expecting bulk prices" you should be looking at least at a couple thousand rounds. I don't think I've ever seen 500rnd lots referred to as "bulk".

Corrosive is fine so long as you clean your rifle within 12-24 hours of shooting. I've never bothered with water, Windex, or any other gimmicks. I use G96 spray solvent and a nylon brush until the patches come out light grey followed with Rem Oil and don't have a spot of rust in my Mosin. Another regular at the range I attend shoots corrosive in several rifles and uses the same cleaning regime and also has never seen a spot of rust.

If you do look for surplus avoid Arabic headstamps. I got a bunch with an M95M from a gun show and half misfired. They are Egyptian surplus and are known for being horrible.
