I've collected a supply of 8mm surplus to feed my K98 and MG34s. I need help identifying the head stamps as shown. 7-9 are easy to see. Oops, 3&5 are the same. Any help appreciated.

1- Looks like a Czech Silvertip
2 - looks Israeli with the star of david and looks like 49 manufacture
3 and 5 - I believe both are Yugo manufacture 53 manufacture

#1 - 1954 Ecquadorian
#2 - 1949 Czech
#3 - 1953 Yugo
#4 - 1950 Czech
#5 - 1953 Yugo
#6 - 1971 Romanian

You know what the last 3 are...

and yes... I have lots of 8mm too! ;)

The only make I don't have that you've got there is Romanian... But I do have WW2 German and East German! ;)

PS: All of it should be good for the K98 (Though I know my 2 crates of Ecuadorian have many duds) (Please note my incorrect spelling of Ecuador in my first response)

The TNW MG34 likes all of it (The Ecuadorian actually works better in the MG than my K98s), but I do find the 53/54 Yugo blows primers... It still works... but it isn't the best.

Romanian is supposed to be top notch, and you can almost never go wrong with Czech.

East German was decent, though I've heard guys complain of duds before.

Never fired my WW2 German stash, though if it isn't corroded from the inside out, apparently, it runs great in MGs.

Cheers!
