For some strange reason I have always been interested in the 8mm Remington Magnum. Yes I know belts aren't cool anymore or will it do anything better than my 300 Win or 338 win.

But I am still interested in one.

Who makes brass? Is it possible to find some new that isn't outrageously expensive at $125+/25?

I have had one for about 8 years now. It doesn’t get as much use as I would like, but it always puts a smile on my face when I shoot it…

You can use 300 or 340 wby brass also on top of 375 or 7mm STW if you can find it.

I got lucky when I bought mine it came with a decent amount of ammo.

I have a custom build in 8mm Rem Mag. It is a very authoritative chambering.
Blueprinted 700 Remington action, 26" Benchmark 9 twist, Good quality synthetic
stock. Triggertech. Built by Dennis Sorensen.
Recoil is not a maiden's caress, believe me, but manageable if you are accustomed
to "kickers" I use mine almost exclusively for Elk, and have shot several with it.
[ I hunt where longer range shots occasionally present ]
I use the Swift A- Frames, both 200 and 220 grain weights, chased by 8x/8x grains of
Reloder 26 The 200 leaves at 3200 and pennies, and the 220 at right around 3000.
I have used 300 Weatherby brass, but have a decent supply of R-P brass, so don't
have to form it from the others suggested. Primers used are Federal 215s or WLRM.
I like the "big 8", but it is not commonly seen in the field, mores the pity. Regards, Dave.
