Aside from the Bushnell 4200 series, what other choices are their? Particularly ones with mildots and oversized windage and elevation adjustments? Is there a brand that is best at this configuration? What is your experience/opinion? Thanks.
Nightforce, IOR, Leupold, and lots of Chinese imports. Besides the ELite, there is precious little in the higher mag variables that have great optics and not cost a mint.
Depending on your uses, you may find that 24X is all that you need to see way out there. I use the Elite 6X24 mil dot scope and love them. I have looked at higher mag but with mirage, doesn't work for me.
I have a 8x32 burris black diamond with the bmd reticle that I have had for a little over 2 years. Thus far the scope has been flawless, but like mysticplayer said if you can get away with less magnification by all means do so. If I had the money to do it over I would either buy the nightforce 5.5x22 or the ior 3x18. this in my opinion is still plenty of power to shoot way out there but low enuf mag on the low end to give you some field of view if you really wanted a dual purpose rig, just my 2 cents, Cdog
As cdog mentioned, the Burris Black Diamond is available in that configuration and is a great scope for the money - I had one in 6-24 that was fantastic. Also, Burris offers the 8-32 in their Signature Select line - although I haven't owned a Signature scope yet I've yet to hear anything bad about them.
