I was given a bunch of 8x57 from a friend along with a rifle. There is a blue box of Sako 127gr round nose FMJ ammo, seems really odd to me as it is super light for the diameter.

Anyone else ever see this?

Also in the bin a bunch of RWS and Normal ammo, some with the stepped soft point bullet.

That is pretty light. BUT, I've got some 8mm/.323 125 gr Hornady projecticles that I picked up as part of a group buy a few years ago. I did load some up but I haven't tried them out yet.

Sako loads a variety of practice loads, which includes the 8x57 in bulk boxes with the 127. The practice rounds are loaded with lighter fmjs. RWS still loads 8x57, but over the years loaded it with all thier projectiles invluding the TIG, TUG etc.

used them in my 325WSM for break-in and fireforming brass

never did run them over the chrony but I suspect they were moving :)

yes as in norway you need to practise with every firearms you want to hunt with and have your shooting book signed. the 127 grains are really easy on the shoulder,
