Should work nicely. SST wouldn't be my first choice of big game bullet, but your dink probably won't drop off for using it.
at the speed you will be producing it will probably be an excelent game bullet. i use 195 hornady il and 200 partitions in my 8 mag and 325wsm i find the 195h to be a very accurate bullet in 8mm's.
On what type of game?
Used Hornady's SST in a 30TC in 165 grain, dropped a moose from 300 yards and it never got up from the first and only blow, if that's any consolation. Good penetration, expansion and went out the other side somewhere; upper shoulder/neck area.
The sst is a decent bullet for soft targets. Broadside shots sure. Close range with a lot of velocity they will break apart.
Perfect deer bullet
prefer the 150s. Better long range performance due to a more streamlined design. Imr 4064 works well.
WTF???
Can you explain this??
170 grain SST (there is no 150), has a BC of .445.
Most 150 grain .323 bullets have a BC around .300, which is nowhere as good.
You're not making any sense to me...
