8x57I .318" bullets...

Here is what it did. I phoned Barnes and they agrreed to size their "X" bullets to 318 for me. I bought 3 boxes each of 3 different weights. No charge for the service.

These are rather pricey for plinking, so I bought .321 bullets for the 32 Spl. They make good cheap plinking bullets.

In the past, I've had a few custom guys on cast bullets build me push through dies. You could get a hold of a few of those guys and see if one would make you a push through dies to resize any .323 bullet you want down to the size you require.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, Tradeex usually carries them but they have been out of stock for some months now. Can't seem to get a response as to when they will replenish their stock. Casting my own is an option for plinking, but I would rather use jacketed bullets for hunting. I thought of having a push-through die made but I have been cautioned that the copper jacket may thin out too much and have the bullet fragment on impact. I'm still hoping someone out there will have an old box or two they no longer need.

I've cobbled a few push through sizers together here at home. Often that's the the only way to attain proper bullet fit in anything oddball.

Anyone with a lathe and a good selection of reamers could do the job I'm sure.

Also an arbour press is a handy tool to have when it comes to custom swaging dies.

It's better that they're internally ground rather than reamed. Bullets slide through much smoother that way...
