I've been on a spending spree as of late and decided to go an entirely different route which lead me to a 1889 rolling block. An original not a reproduction. The thing is its chambered in 8x58R. I've found sources for brass but can't find load data safe for a rifle that is 140+ years old. If i do buy the rifle in question I plan to shoot smokeless powder behind hard cast bullets. Does anyone on here shoot a rolling block of this cal?
I'm open to thoughts and opinions as to go with this or wait for a 12.7x44 and convert it to a 50/70. I've considered altering one to a 28 ga as well
I'm set up for reloading and casting and would like to breathe new life in an old rifle and think restoring an old swedish rolling block is the most easy and cost effective way to scratch this new self inflicted itch
