so I got some of that old surplus 8x63mm MG ammo and had the Parker Hale Safari that had the 1919MG barrel installed on it out on the range yesterday, I thought hey I have the chrony in the range bag lets see what its doing

well I'm assuming that this is standard ball ammo 218 - 219 grn and the numbers were between 2420 and 2500 fps group was about 3 1/2" at 100m, shooting prone off a bi-pod, good enough, I guess next time I should move back and test at longer ranges.

I still have a bunch of that stuff
I was stripping it down for the components and reloading it into 8mm Mauser for the mg34

well I got my first batch of cases from a guy here that was salvaging the powder and projectiles

I loaded them up with whatever random 8mm bullets I had kicking around, some pulled from 325WSM handloads I picked up at auction

I have a 325WSM so I used those dies to necksize and seat bullets

but it is good to have a bunch of loaded ammo to play with now

I still have several sealed crates I was shooting it through a semi 1919 but I haven't done that in years. I also have many empty belts
